Who makes up Phil's Noodle Pit and Partners

The Team

Philippe Lurol

Owner/Operator

When not on Noodle Pit business, I work as a Paramedic (Primary Care/BLS) for the BC Ambulance Service. I also work for Cranbrook Society for Community Living as a care aide.

I created, own, manage and run Phil's  Noodle Pit after realizing that a lot of people tend to be uncomfortable with my obssession, snakes. I have made it my life's mission to help abolish fears about snakes, while helping snakes find homes and of course, displaying my own gorgeous collection of snakes.

Jessica Schmidt

Volunteer, Manager of Rat Operations

Jessica Got me my first snake in 2014. We were a couple at the time but went our separate ways since.  Jessica owns her own reptile business, called Midnight Myst Lizardry. Through it, she breeds various geckos and rescues many reptiles. She has an extensive collection of geckos of various species, as well as other lizards such as bearded dragons, and skinks.  Jessica has accompanied me to shows with some of her reptiles to add some diversity to the snake shows Phil's Noodle Pit does. Jessica also manages Phil's Noodle Pit rat breeding operations to ensure that we always have plenty of feeders for the collection, and perhaps in the future, to help out other snake owners.

Andrew Moldenhauer

Volunteer

Andrew has been instrumental in keeping the costs down with Phil's Noodle Pit. From the early beginnings, he has always manage to find/donate many tanks and feeders. Thanks to his efforts in breeding rodents, the snakes have had full bellies for next to nothing in return. Andrew and his wife Tasha also collect snakes for me while I  am stuck working my regular job(s). Also pictured in this shot is the latest human member of his clan Felix. Andrew owns 1 snake, a ball python.

Dr. Chris Nugent, DVM

Doctor of Veterinary Medecine

Dr. Chris Nugent is NOT officially attached to Phil's Noodle Pit,  He is a veterinarian that Phil's Noodle Pit consults with when required. Dr. Nugent completed a Bachelor of Science in Toxicology at the University of Saskatchewan in 2008 as well as his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine fin 2012 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine.  We at Phil's Noodle Pit consider ourselves lucky to be able to turn to Dr. Nugent for all the snakes health matters in our area rather then having to travel several hours away for a reptile focused veterinarian. Thank Dr. Nugent for your devoted care and attention!

Wildlife Partners

Proud Partner of the "Dont Let it Loose" Program

Phil's Noodle Pit is a proud partner in this program.

Most pets don’t survive in the wild – some die by being killed by predators or hit by cars, and others die of starvation. It is inhumane to release an animal into an environment it is not accustomed to. Releasing a pet into an unsuitable habitat is also considered animal cruelty and charges can be laid (BC SPCA).

With this program, we have partnered up with:

East Kootenay Invasive Species Council

Central Kootenay Invasive Species Society

Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society

East Kootenay Invasive Species Council

Phil's Noodle Pit & the East Kootenay Invasive Species Council are working together since August 2nd 2016 to minimize the impact of releasing pet snakes into the environment, which is both illegal and inhumane. It is a known fact that released pets will die in one of the worst ways possible for a pet.  Phil's Noodle Pit is proud to be part of the solution for the Don't Let it Loose! program. Central kootenay Invasive Species Society

Phil's Noodle Pit & the Central Kootenay Invasive Species Society have partnered up since January 16th 2016 as a result of the partnership with EKISC.  We are also working together to minimize the impact of releasing pet snakes into the environment, which is both illegal and inhumane.  Phil's Noodle Pit is proud to be part of the solution for the Don't Let it Loose! program in the Central Kootenays as well. Click the picture for the Facebook page!

Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society

Phil's Noodle Pit & the Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society have partnered up since January 17th 2016 as a result of the partnership with EKISC.  We are also working together to minimize the impact of releasing pet snakes into the environment. Phil's Noodle Pit is proud to be part of the solution to minimize the impacts of pets on the environment via the Don't Let it Loose! program in the Columbia Shuswap area as well. Click the picture for the Facebook page!
