Autopsy of Sanders (~2012 Male Regular Columbian Boa)

After patiently waiting in the freezer for a proper funeral, it was decided that Sanders would be a good candidate for learning and research. With the help of Phil's Noodle Pit's favorite vet, Chris Nugent, Sanders' body was opened for a post mortem autopsy. The goal was to try and identify the cause of death and to see if it was the reason Casper also died. Upon opening his body, large amounts of infection and tissue damage was found on the full length of Sanders' stomach and surrounding tissues. The stomach itself was full of thick puss and mucous. This was obviously the cause of death, and the reason Sanders had such a difficult time wanting to eat. The good news however is that Sander's infection was not the cause of Casper's illness, and the infection was so advanced that no matter what I would have done, the outcome would have been the same. Sander's infection was way beyond the point of no return, even before he came into my care (and that of the previous rescue who found him). Thank you Chris for your time and devotion to the welfare of the animals in my care, and for putting my mind at ease over the tragedy of his death.
