Recovery of Mowgli (~2013 Male Jungle Carpet Python)
After weeks of medication and months of observation (literally), Mowgli has been cleared by his veterinarian Dr Tijon. Following the medical treatments, followed by a difficult shed, Mowgli ate a decent meal, and appeared to have returned to his normal activity level. This was followed by a second shed, all on his own and in one piece. prior to that 2nd shed, he had again resorted to holding his head up, and breathing with a high pitched whistle. Following inspection of both sheds and after months of observation in quarantine, Mowgli was deemed to have "scale boogers" which obstructed his nostrils. This condition is not uncommon and is a result of snakes shedding the scales of the nostrils, it is also not contagious and not an infection. Mowgli has now returned to the snake room and is awaiting an enclosure upgrade. Any and all signs of the previous infections have been treated and have not returned, Mowgli is now healthier than ever.
