Petra (2015 Female Bumblebee Ball Python) Formerly known as Peter Layed 4 Eggs
Well Everyone, Meet Petra. You may recognize her as Peter, the bumblebee ball python that I have welcomed into the collection late last year. Well Peter decided to lay 4 healthy eggs for us today. Peter will henceforth be known as petra. All 4 eggs have been place in the incubator, all 4 eggs have veins, but are slightly smaller than average. The fact that they have been scattered is not a great sign but momma is healthy (all things considered), weighing in at just over 830 grams (which is about 400 grams to small to start breeding in the first place). I would like to note that Phil's Noodle Pit did not pair this snake, therefore I do not have any idea what the babies will look like since I have no idea what she would have been paired with. I would also like to point out that she was sold as a male spider ball python... Surprise! Petra had gone off food for a good part of the winter, this did not raise any red flags as it is quite common for male ball python to go months without food. Nevertheless, I hope she will soon eat to return to a more acceptable weight.
